that two of its artists, Pinetop Perkins and Gary U.S. Bonds won W.C. Handy Awards. The Blues Foundation presented the awards in Memphis TN. this past Thursday night.
M.C. Records artist Pinetop Perkins
is riding high on his recent Grammy Nomination for his release Ladies Man.
Pinetop can add two W.C. Handy awards to his incredible year. The 91 piano legend received awards for
Traditional Album of the Year (Ladies Man) and Traditional Male Artist. Pinetop also received The Lifetime Achievement Award from The Blues Foundation. Ladies Man
features special guests Susan Tedeschi, Marcia Ball, Odetta, Madeleine Peyroux and many more.
Gary U.S. Bonds released his first CD in 20 years, Back In 20 on M.C. Records. The Handys acknowledged Gary's CD with the award for
Comeback Blues Album of the Year. Back In 20 features blistering blues, soul and Rock & Roll with special guests Bruce Springsteen, Phoebe Snow and Dickie Betts.
