February 2, Northport NY – Last year we released our first Black History Month playlist. It was so successful that we have expanded to include 20 tracks from our releases over the years.

President of the label Mark Carpentieri said:

I am humbled and honored to work with these amazing array of African-American artists. Sadly, some of these great artist are no longer with us but their music lives on and continues to inspire!

The BHM playlist includes Odetta, Marie Knight, Corey Harris, Toshi Reagon, Guy Davis & The Blind Boys of Alabama, Big Jack Johnson, Mavis Staples, The Lee Boys, Pinetop Perkins, Sweet Honey In The Rock, Sherman Holmes, Catherine Russell, and Cyril Neville. Since 1976, every U.S. president has officially designated the month of February as Black History Month. Other countries around the world, including Canada and the United Kingdom, also devote a month to celebrating Black history.
